IQusion and Ukraine’s Economy: How Information Technologies Develop the Country

In recent decades, Ukraine’s economy has been undergoing transformations, largely driven by the rapid development of technology. Today, November 9, 2023, Mykhailo Vihovskyi, a Ukrainian entrepreneur and founder of companies belonging to the Software Ukraine association, during a scheduled presentation within the U IT (Ukrainian IT) project, told clients and partners about the key technologies influencing the progress of the Ukrainian economy. 

Ukraine’s IT sector is one of the most dynamic in the world, ensuring foreign currency inflows into Ukraine. Before the full-scale war, the IT industry showed rapid growth, with the volume of IT service exports in Q4 2021 reaching $2.1 billion. The share of IT in Ukraine’s service exports during that period ranged from 39% to 48%. In the first year of the war, from January to December 2022, the growth inertia continued – the export volume increased by $400 million compared to 2021. However, despite all difficulties, according to the results of 2022, the IT industry provided foreign currency revenues to the Ukrainian economy amounting to $7.35 billion. The growth of this sector is facilitated by foreign investments, outsourcing, and highly qualified specialists. Ukrainian developers work on international projects, including in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cybersecurity. 

However, the field of information technology also helps traditional sectors of economic activity to develop.
